A study that doesn’t come back isn’t research — it’s extraction with a citation. I build that part: the map a budget acts on, the tool you own when the contract ends, the system still running after I leave.

Three kinds of work: the study, the build, and keeping it running after. Start at whichever one your problem is on. Every engagement is scoped and priced before anything starts.
“Live” means it’s running for someone right now. “New” means I’ve built the capability and you’d be among the first to buy it — which is reflected in what it costs.
I read the document the way the person who has to act on it reads it — closely, in the language they actually speak. Then it becomes a map, or an audit, that a budget has to answer to.
A tool that stops working when the invoice stops was never yours. Mine are static-first — they run with no server to go down and no login to lose, and the files leave with you when the contract ends.
The systems a nonprofit runs on should be boring: documented, backed up, and safe. Lately that includes the AI creeping into them. I keep the lights on and write down every decision, so the next person can read what happened without calling me.

Before the firm, I did the data and the writing behind affordable-housing tax-credit applications — $150M+ requested, $80M+ approved. On a team, a decade before TresPies existed.
The commitment under all of it is the same. What I build comes back to the people it describes. The files leave with you when the contract ends, and the systems keep running whether or not I’m in the room.

Families kept saying their kids were missing too much school. One hundred twenty-five tracts, fifty-four schools, twenty-two data layers later, the gap had a number — thirty-one points — and Dane County put it into its block-grant priorities. They were right before the map was.
$7.68M in tenant property-tax contribution, 2020–2024, reconciled to the penny against the county’s own public tax portal — the evidence a housing board took into its own budget fight. The portal is public. Check it before you call me.
One civic-data API. Eighty-five policies, three hundred eighty tests, and no login to lose.
Eight neighborhood maps for a get-out-the-vote push — four print-ready, sized for a canvasser’s hand, in both languages.
Fifty-three English files, fifty-three Spanish ones, and a build that refuses to ship if they drift out of sync. That’s what “in both languages” costs when you mean it.
